Pastors

Occoquan Bible Church is elder-led by biblically qualified men who serve as our pastors and under-shepherds of Christ our Chief Shepherd (1 Tim. 3; Titus 1; 1 Pet. 5).  Terms such as 'pastor,' 'elder,' 'bishop,' are synonymous with each other in Scripture, the title of which is only given to men who show qualifying character to care for and feed the flock that is given to them by God.

Jared Bridges

Pastor of Family Ministry

Jared became an Elder in 2009. He provides pastoral oversight of Family Ministries which includes OBC’s children’s ministry classes, NextGen Kids, Community VBS, and other family ministries. A native of the Volunteer State, Jared studied at the University of Tennessee, and then served as a campus minister in the former Soviet Union. After returning to the U.S., he earned a MDiv in Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, Kentucky). He and his family relocated to the D.C. area where he now works for a nonprofit. Jared and his wife Lori have been blessed with four children, and he enjoys cycling, reading, writing, teaching, and preaching on the more obscure texts of the Bible. He is a founding member of Christ Over All.

Ron became an Elder in 2014, and he provides pastoral oversight and teaches in the Youth Ministry. He also shepherds a Community Group, and plays bass in our Music Ministry. Jeff became an Elder in 2013, and he provides pastoral oversight for OBC’s outreach ministry. Jeff loves to connect church members to community outreach opportunities, so that those in need may know the love of Christ in the Gospel.. As Jeff encountered Christ in the book of Colossians, specifically in Colossians 2:8-10, the supremacy of Jesus Christ has become his passion. During the week, Jeff serves the Lord in his career in the news media. He also enjoys teaching Sunday morning classes, and he and his wife Mary host a Community Group in their home. Jeff’s hobbies include art and performing as a magician!

Rod and Cyndi are burdened to see marriages established on Christ, marriages that reflect the Gospel portrait of Christ and his bride, the church. In addition to biblical counseling, and Rod's preaching and teaching when he has the opportunity, they provide premarital counseling to engaged couples, are involved in OBC's Community Group ministry, and Men's and Women's ministries. Practicing law since the late-80s, Rod currently serves as the Inspector General for the Denali Commission in Anchorage, Alaska.
