Pastors

Occoquan Bible Church is elder-led by biblically qualified men who serve as our pastors and under-shepherds of Christ our Chief Shepherd (1 Tim. 3; Titus 1; 1 Pet. 5).  Terms such as 'pastor,' 'elder,' 'bishop,' are synonymous with each other in Scripture, the title of which is only given to men who show qualifying character to care for and feed the flock that is given to them by God.

After returning to the U.S., he earned a M.Div. in Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, Kentucky). He and his family relocated to the D.C. area where he now works for a nonprofit. Jared and his wife Lori have been blessed with four children, and he enjoys cycling, reading, writing, teaching, and preaching on the more obscure texts of the Bible.

In addition to biblical counseling, and Rod's preaching and teaching when he has the opportunity, they provide premarital counseling to engaged couples, are involved in OBC's Community Group ministry, and Men's and Women's ministries.
