Thank you for visiting us online! We are a Gospel-Centered Church proclaiming the good news of Christ to Northern Virginia.
The mission of Occoquan Bible Church is to obey the commission Christ gave to His Church from the beginning, to bring glory to God by making disciples. The life of every Christian is to be a life of discipleship to the glory and praise of God (Matt. 28:18-20; 1 Cor. 10:31).
Our Worship Services are held on Sunday Mornings at 8:30am and 11:00am. Our Music and Performing Arts Ministry presents contemporary songs and older hymns with lyrics that are rich with truth about God. We practice expository preaching in order to faithfully communicate the meaning of the Scriptures. You can listen to past sermons here.
We offer childcare for infants and toddlers during worship services, and classes for all ages during the Sunday School hour at 10am. We encourage families to worship together, so children are welcome in the worship services.
The church is built on the unchangeable truth of Christ’s Word, and we have set forth our Statement of Faith to articulate what we teach and to guard against false doctrine. Our Statement of Faith reflects our historic biblical theology.
Occoquan Bible Church is elder-led by biblically qualified men who serve as our pastors and under-shepherds of Christ our Chief Shepherd (1 Tim. 3; 1 Pet. 5).
The Bible is central to the life of the church. All of Scripture is inspired by God, and the full counsel of God’s Word must be preached (Acts 20:27; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). It is through the ministry of God’s Word that people believe the Gospel and are transformed into the image of Christ (Rom. 10:17, Rom. 12:1-2; Eph. 4:11-16).
Occoquan Bible Church began as a church plant in 1995 with four families meeting together in a living room.
As God added people to the church, space was rented in local schools to hold weekly worship services. God provided what was needed to purchase our current property in 2000. Construction began in 2004, and our church building was completed in 2005.
Over the years we have continued to see God’s grace as His Gospel brings sinners to salvation and as His Word sanctifies His Church (Rom. 1:16; John 17:17).
In all these things, may Christ be our all in all, and may our boasting be only in His cross.
“Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!” (Psalm 115:1).
